Dr. Michelle Bozeman

Michelle Bozeman, Ed.D., has served over six years as the dedicated Superintendent of Schools for Educational Management and Development Group (EMDG). With nearly three decades of experience in education, Dr. Bozeman is widely respected as an enthusiastic leader committed to advocating for student success at every level. Her passion extends to breaking down barriers faced by non-traditional students, striving to make elementary education a transformative and equitable learning experience for all.

Dr. Bozeman does not tire of her role since she believes all students can learn and that every day is a new beginning. These beliefs drive her ability to champion educators, encouraging them to give their best to help students achieve their full potential. She is eager to transform learning to meet the needs of today’s learners.

Recognizing the critical role of partnerships in educational success, Superintendent Bozeman emphasizes collaboration with other institutions, industries, and thought leaders. This collaborative approach, under her administration, aims to enhance the quality of education and learning experiences in EMDG-managed schools.

Superintendent Bozeman is deeply engaged in community service, leading an Advisory Council comprised of community leaders, students, and stakeholders. The council provides diverse perspectives, expert advice, and assistance related to elementary education, new opportunities, and external community matters. Notably, in 2009, Dr. Bozeman led a group of teachers to Africa to provide training for educators in three countries.

Michelle Bozeman's journey in education began in 1997 when she joined Richard Allen schools as a teacher. Over the years, she excelled in various roles, progressing from teacher to school principal, and eventually holding the positions of Deputy Superintendent and Superintendent. The management agreement between EMDG and Dr. Bozeman was conditioned upon her assuming the role of Superintendent for all schools managed by EMDG.

Dr. Bozeman holds a doctorate and master’s degree in education from the University of Phoenix, and a bachelor’s degree in education from Howard University. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her educational background and extensive experience underscore her commitment to transformative leadership in education.

Dr. Aleta Benson

Growing up in a small Ohio town fueled Aleta Townsel-Benson’s passion for serving those who suffered from educational injustices and a lack of diverse opportunities for success.  She has served as a proponent of change as Faculty Dean at Marva Collins Preparatory School in Cincinnati, Ohio where she was tutored by the inspirational, no-nonsense Marva Collins. Her training there prepared her for a return to her hometown where she was a teacher and principal for Richard Allen Academy. She more than doubled the enrollment during her tenure as principal and led her school to see many successes before being promoted to help lead the district as Deputy Superintendent. She is currently employed as the Chief Operating Officer of the Educational Management and Development Group where she oversees principal supervision, special education, and planning compliance. She enjoys teaching and training most, which enabled her to inspire and lead undergraduate education students while working as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dayton.  In addition to graduate work at Ashville University and Ohio University, Aleta has earned a bachelor's degree, masters degree, and doctorate of educational leadership at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, Antioch McGregor University, and Liberty University respectively.
